Illinois increased its sports betting tax rates to fill the budget deficit gaps. They projected it to bring in $200 million a year.

It is good news for the state but bad news for the sportsbook operators.

It is my dream to become a bookie. It came true with the help of PPH services.

New York has 51%, so the 49% rate for Illinois is nothing new.

That being said we'd probably see a decrease in promotions in sportsbooks that would reach the highest bracket. Something will have to give for them to make up for that increase.

I like reading and contributing to sportsbook reviews, and other things that interest me, like books and films. Love the challenge of betting especially when it comes to basketball and football.

At present, sportsbooks are paying 15% tax. Increasing it to 20% to 40%, depending on the bracket, will hurt DraftKings, FanDuel, and other big players in the state.

Yeah that will hurt their ability to dish out good promos. We'll see that decline over time when they hit the higher brackets.

Getting my daily dose of Sports Interaction and Betting News, and I'm good to go!

On the plus side, independent bookies can compete with them.

This is Illinois, they can take the hit. They're a pretty large market. And not all sportsbooks will get hit with the maximum tax anyway.

Thanks to my bookie pay per head I'm working from home, and can travel anytime (let me know where to!)
