Stanislav Zegal of Germany won the $5,000 buy-in tournament, which resulted in a prize pool of $2 million and his first World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet. He became the first person from his country to hold this title. On the penultimate day of the four-hour tournament, the GGPoker qualifier prevailed against Czech Republic's Michael Sklenicka in heads-up play.
At the five-star Atlantis Resort in The Bahamas, 3,010 players competed in the first WSOP Paradise Main Event, which had a prize pool that just exceeded the $15 million guarantee. Zegal, who transformed his life with a seven-figure win thanks to his online poker skills, was one of dozens of online qualifiers in the field.
I wish someday there will be land-based Casinos in Georgia. Maybe someday it will come true.
