Due to the necessity for more deliberation, the French government has withdrawn a proposed modification to its 2025 budget to authorize internet casinos. Laurent Saint-Martin, the minister responsible for the budget, decided on Sunday. He said more talks are needed to settle concerns, including the effect on regional land-based casinos and the loss of jobs.

They should have considered the benefits the country can get from online casinos.

I'd say that because employment is a big issue, and labor unions are very influential in France, they need to take this step.

Thanks to my bookie pay per head I'm working from home, and can travel anytime (let me know where to!)

The French government has formed three task forces, one each devoted to public health, consumer protection, and economic consequences, to assess the current state of regulation of online casinos. Some departments may be opposed to the plan, and a government shutdown is always a real possibility. Its continuation depends on the stability and agreement of the French political system, but it can potentially transform the country's gaming sector.
