New revisions to the regulatory environment for the gaming sector have been announced by the Macau Executive Council, which would prevent management companies from providing players with credit.
On Friday afternoon, the Executive Council heard an announcement from the Secretary for Administration and Justice, Cheong Weng Chon, and the Director of the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau (DICJ), Adriano Marques Ho, that only concessionaires and licensed junkets would be allowed to issue credit under the new law. This proposed legislation would replace the present gaming credit law, Law 5/2004 "Legal regime of issuing credit for gambling or betting in a casino," if it were to become law.
