Once again, the first month of the 2024 season has shown that the tight end position is a fantasy wasteland. There have been 21 touchdowns scored by tight ends this season, which is the fewest by this position group since 1992.

Despite the paucity of alternatives, there may be some good news for fantasy gamers this week. Reportedly set to play again in Week 5 vs the Washington Commanders, tight end David Njoku (Cleveland Browns) will be making his recovery from an ankle sprain he sustained in Week 1.

Even though he hurt himself in Week 2 warmups, Jacksonville Jaguars tight end Evan Engram hopes to play again soon. Trey McBride, a favorite sleeper for the starting job at tight end for the Cardinals, entered the NFL's concussion protocol in Week 3, but he might be ready to go again in Week 5.
